Protein Trafficking in Health and Disease

Organizers

The 1st International Symposium on “Protein Trafficking in Health and Disease” is organized by graduate students of the Research Training Group 1459 (GRK1459) ”Sorting and Interactions Between Proteins of Subcellular Compartments ”, which is supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). Scientists from the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, the Institute of Biochemistry at the University Kiel, and the Bernhard-Nocht-Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg belong to the GRK1459.
The focus of the GRK1459 is sorting and transport of proteins within the cell. The majority of projects addresses sorting and transport processes under pathological conditions in cells derived from patients, mouse models of human diseases, cells infected by bacteria or parasite cells.
